What is polycarbonate?
Polycarbonate is a polymer composed of many (“poly”) identical units of bisphenol A connected by carbonate linkages in its backbone chain. Chemically, a carbonate group is a di-ester of carbonic acid, which results in a polymeric chain. Polycarbonate is shaped by melting it and forcing it under pressure into a mould or die.
Extrusion: the polymer melt is continuously pressed through an orifice called a die, which gives it its final shape. This makes it possible to create infinitely long pipes, profiles or sheets.

Can Gallina multiwall panels be used for radius applications?
Yes. Unlike glass, polycarbonate can be cold bent for arched applications. Panel thickness and structure determine the minimum bending radius.
What should I clean PoliCarb® and arcoPlus® panels with?
Installers should protect panels from abrasion. After installation, wash panels with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water using only a clean sponge or soft cloth, then rinse with clean water. Fresh paint, grease and smeared glazing compounds can be removed before drying by rubbing lightly with good-grade naphtha or isopropyl alcohol, followed by a final wash and rinse.
What should I use to cut PoliCarb® and arcoPlus® panels?
Use a circular saw with a plywood blade or a jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade for a clean, even cut. Cut the sheet before removing the film, otherwise static will attract fine chips into the channels, and remove any shavings before installation. Leave the film on until you are ready to install and remove it in a dust-free area. Thinner sheets can be cut with a utility knife against a clamped straight edge.
Can I use polycarbonate on an angled or flat roof?
We recommend a slope of no less than 5 degrees.
